Citalopram is an antidepressant (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor-
SSRI) used to treat depression. It works by restoring the balance of certain
natural substances (neurotransmitters such as serotonin) in the brain.
Citalopram may improve your feelings of well-being and energy level.
Indications
Citadep is a popular medicine that is known to belong to a wide class of medicines that are generally known under the name of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Citadep is able to affect some of the substances that can be found in the patient's brain, and that are known to sometimes become unbalanced (thus, a depression is initiated).
Citadep is a medicine that is primarily indicated in the treatment of patients who are suffering from depression. However, Citadep can also serve some other purposes (treat or prevent some other medical conditions) that have not been listed in this guide.
Contraindications

Citadep is a category C FDA pregnancy medicine. Therefore, it has not been clearly determined whether a treatment with Citadep during pregnancy could harm a growing fetus or not. If you are pregnant, or if you suspect that you might become pregnant soon, you should ask your personal physician if it is safe (both for you and for the unborn child) to start a treatment with Citadep.
